- This is a music education program in Brazil that I am proud to have helped get off the ground in 2005. It's amazing to see it become real! They are offering free orchestra/band, chorus and percussion classes twice weekly, now. And I've still not set foot in Brazil! I plan on correcting that. The Zazous - A pop and world music collective (Reggae, Latin, Funk, etc.) that I play with. Calle 49 - Latin Jazz Quartet that I play in. Flavors - An Indian film which I did some bass and guitar work on, working with South Indian composer Mahesh Shankar. I also played a bunch of guitar on his CD, "Mugangal," as well as on another Film, "Knock Knock." http://www.plazacuba.com - These folks do a wonderful musical tour in Cuba. It's for serious musicians and dancers. I went in February of 2003. It was awesome. Unfortunately, The Bush administration is cracking down on these kinds of educational exchanges these days, so it's harder to go, now. http://www.landmark education.com - I've taken a bunch of workshops with Landmark which has made a big difference in my life. http://www.cigarbarandgrill.com - A
great spot for live latin jazz music.
http://www.neutravdl.org/ - An important building designed by my grandfather, Richard Neutra, and Uncle, Dion Neutra. There is an effort afoot to restore this building. |
